'GBG's Pocket RouteXpress is years ahead,' says CCBCC

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 31, 2006) - A leader in soft drink distribution and the current holder of Beverage World's Bottler of the Year title, North America's second largest Coke bottler turned to GBG to find the best possible delivery solution for its route drivers and their customers.

Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated (CCBCC) implemented GBG's mobile delivery application, Pocket RouteXpress (PRX), along with its Mobile communications suite XNet Communicator (XNet), to replace its outdated delivery technology.

CCBCC began rolling out GBG's PRX over the bulk of its routes (1400) early last year and successfully completed the implementation within eight weeks.

"PRX is years ahead of what we had and was a significant key to the success of the smooth rollout," said Darrell Thompson, Information Services Project Manager with CCBCC.

"PRX had all the functionality we were looking for and was scalable for the future. It has provided us with a stable, yet flexible delivery solution that has become the backbone of our daily operations."

Thompson continued, "We knew PRX offered the closest fit on the market but we didn't anticipate so many far reaching benefits. Not only does PRX speed up delivery and settlement times, it also makes application deployments so much easier. I was extremely happy the first time we did an application deployment. With PRX we are able to update handhelds from one remote location without having to touch each unit. That saves a lot of time and IT manpower."

"As a leader in the beverage industry, CCBCC was the perfect fit to showcase the extensive functionality and flexibility of PRX," said GBG CEO Ted Hastings. "This installation underscores GBG's ability to meet the demands of enterprise-sized organizations both from a product and a services perspective."
