GDG ENVIRONMENT GROUP Announced Today the Nomination of Jean Sebastien Berube as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Group

TROIS-RIVIERES, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 16, 2009) - GDG ENVIRONMENT GROUP, (TSX VENTURE:GDG), leader in the biological control of biting flies and the protection of public health, is proud to announce the nomination of Jean Sebastien Berube as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, effective on February 17, 2009. Mr. Berube will take the chair of the actual President and CEO, Jean-Guy Lanouette, who will continue to act as Chairman of the Board for the Group, thus ensuring a successful transition.

Mr. Berube has accumulated many years of experience, in Canada and abroad, in his capacity of senior executive. On February 13, 2009, he resigned as Executive Vice President of Lyrtech Inc., a high-tech public corporation with a distribution network in 18 countries. Previously, Mr. Berube was Vice President, Operations at Roper Industries, a multinational, which generated billion of dollars in revenue. Mr. Berube also acted as Plant Manager for a subsidiary of Teleflex (head office in Pennsylvania). For many years, he was manager at CAE, an avionics company based in Montreal, which has a presence worldwide.

The Board of Directors of GDG has also authorized the granting of 200 000 stock options ("options") in favour of Mr. Berube. In accordance with GDG' stock option plan, each granted option will allow its holder to subscribe to a common share at an exercise price of $0.20 a share, before February 15, 2014, at the latest. Options granted to Mr. Berube entitle the holder to subscribe the first portion a year from now and will be vested over a period of three years at a rate of 33.33% per year. The first portion being acquired at the end of the first year following the granting of the options.
