Sean Paul's "The Trinity" Certified Platinum as He Releases Third Single "Give It Up to Me"

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 19, 2006 -- Sean Paul's third album "The Trinity" (VP/Atlantic) has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales of over 1 million. His #1 hit single "Temperature" topped the Billboard Airplay charts for three consecutive weeks with 132 million listener impressions. On the heels of his platinum certification, Sean Paul is gearing up for a fantastic summer -- in addition to an extensive 4-week European tour, Sean will perform at MTV's Beach House on May 31st and at NYC's Hot 97 Summer Jam, the largest one-day hip-hop festival in the country. Sean will also release his third single, "Give It Up to Me," this month.

Sean Paul's "The Trinity" is currently #34 on the Billboard 200 after some 32 weeks on the charts. It is currently #1 on the reggae album charts, #5 on the rap album charts, and #11 on the hip-hop charts. The album has also been a huge hit around the world, selling over 1.2 million copies overseas. It is certified platinum in Canada, France, and the Gulf States, and gold in Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Switzerland, Japan, and the United Kingdom, with as many as four singles heating up in these territories.
