LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 4, 2012) - Gehry Technologies (GT), a global leader in applying technology to building industry challenges, today announces numerous speaking sessions and workshops that will take place at the Advances in Architectural Geometry conference, scheduled to take place at the Pompidou Center from September 27-30, 2012 in Paris, France.

Speaking sessions and panels at the conference include:

  • Andrew Witt, Director of Research, will present Euclid: A Cross-Platform Geometry Optimizer and Library on September 28th at 11:15 AM. The paper presents recent work from the GT Research team.

  • Mr. Witt also co-authored the papers Concurrent Geometric, Structural and Environmental Design: Louvre Abu Dhabi to be presented on September 27th at 3:20 PM and How Irregular Geometry and Industrial Process Come Together: A Case Study of the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour La Création to be presented September 28th at 4:40 PM.

  • Senior Project Consultant Neil Meredith and Managing Director James Kotronis will speak on Self-Detailing and Self-Documenting Systems for Wood Fabrication: The Burj Khalifa on September 28th at 3:05 PM.

Workshops at the conference include the following. The workshops will take place on the premises of the ENSA Paris-Malaquais school.

  • Mr. Witt will also join a workshop focused on the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la creation: How to build a concept. From 3D design to realization of structures: how to transform 3D architectural geometry into optimized fabricated structural elements and cladding.

  • Tobias Nolte, Director, Europe, is organizing a workshop on the Fondation Louis Vuitton pour la creation: Knowledge Integration using Object based Processes -- a Case Study of the Fiber Cement Cladding

"Gehry Technologies will have a strong presence at the Advances in Architectural Geometry conference, with our numerous speaking sessions and workshops focused on presenting real-world works and practices linked to new geometrical development applicable to architecture," added Mr. Witt.

Hosted by Centre Pompidou, and co-organized by RFR Engineers, Advances in Architectural Geometry / AAG is a symposium aimed to gather the diverse components of the contemporary architectural tendencies which push the building envelope towards free form and respond to the multiple current design challenges with a renewed mathematical rigor. It involves architects, engineers, software designers and contractors. AAG has become a reference in the professional field and is supported by the direct participation of the most renowned architectural design and engineering offices along with academic laboratories.
