GEMA Plant Designed by NSA Architects, Engineers, Planners Is Featured in CAM Magazine's 2005 Special Issue

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 5, 2005 -- The Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) Plant, designed by NSA Architects, Engineers, Planners is featured in CAM Magazine's Special Issue "Construction 2005," published in November by the Construction Association of Michigan.

The GEMA Plant, a joint venture of DaimlerChrysler, Hyundai and Mitsubishi Motors, was designed with an innovative modular building approach to produce four-cylinder engines for crossover vehicles. Located in Dundee, Michigan, the North Plant was recently completed and an identical South Plant is scheduled to open in 2007.

Michael Serdiuk, AIA, vice president of architectural services for NSA Architects, Engineers, Planners led the project's design team.

"By using a modular building approach we were able to enhance the flexibility of the plant, reduce costs and meet the rapid construction requirements," said Serdiuk.

NSA's project team of architects, engineers and interior designers was challenged to give consideration to a variety of needs including environmental, processes, aesthetic and engineering issues.

"We are delighted that this project is featured in CAM Magazine's Special Issue, because it's a major automotive facility for Michigan," said NSA CEO Frank Ray. "Realizing the completion of this unique 1,200,000-square-foot building located on a 350-acre Greenfield site in a non-industrial community, gave our team a great sense of accomplishment."
