General Environmental Management, Inc. (GEM) Awarded Additional Contracts in Alaska Region for 2005

POMONA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 30, 2005 -- General Environmental Management, Inc. (OTC BB: GEVM) announced today that the company has been awarded an additional contract award worth an estimated $825,000 in revenue. The contract award includes providing labor in addition to transportation and disposal of contaminated soils from various Formerly Utilized Defense Sites (FUDS) on Kodiak Island in Alaska. With the inclusion of the previously announced awards for 2005, this additional contract award represents a significant increase in revenue in this region from the same periods in 2003 and 2004.

In 2003 to 2004 and under previous awards, GEM had transported and disposed of approximately 14,000 tons of soil from Kodiak Island. GEM continues that tradition with the award in 2005 to supervise the loading process and provide onsite logistical management, and transport and dispose of approximately 2,500 tons of contaminated soils.

Previously, GEM has provided project oversight, labor, logistics, transportation and disposal services in support of Alaska remediation projects for several years. In addition, GEM has provided subcontractor services to various government agencies in logistically complex projects. Past projects have included clean-ups and closures at Midway Island, Johnston Atoll, and EPA Superfund sites located in California, Idaho, and Washington.

Mike Gortner, Northwest Regional Manager of GEM, commented, "With this award and the work previously awarded to GEM in 2005 in Alaska, this year should exemplify the company's commitment to the region. We continue to work to provide full service solutions to Alaska's remote sites and the associated logistical challenges."
