General Metals Reports Independence Technical Report Accepted For Review

RENO, NV--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) -  General Metals Corporation (the "Company") (OTCBB: GNMT) (FRANKFURT: GMQ) is pleased to announce it has submitted the full text of its recently completed Independent Technical Report for review with regulators of the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) as required under Canadian National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101). Once the review process is complete and the report has been accepted for filing by the TSX as a fully compliant 43-101 Technical Report, the Company will make the report available on its web site and by links to the report on the TSX website. The completion and submission of the Technical Report for review under NI 43-101 is an important step in new management's program to build shareholder value, secure a Canadian listing and finance production at the Independence property.

The last 44 drill holes in the Hill Zone were not completed in time to be included in this report. These results are being modeled by the Company and will be announced as available.
