Genexa Medical Announces Health Canada Approval of the NewTom VG Cone Beam 3-D CT Scanner

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2007) - Genexa Medical Inc. announced today Health Canada approval of the NewTom VG cone beam computed tomography scanner. "We are extremely excited about the Health Canada approval of the latest model NewTom VG cone beam CT scanner from the company that invented cone beam scanning" said Gary Lee VP Sales. In a single 24 second scan, the NewTom VG captures the highest quality three dimensional images possible. It completely replaces traditional panoramic x-ray machines in the dentist's office and frees the patient from a visit to the local hospital for a very high radiation dose from a medical CT scan. The development of the NewTom VG is a culmination of all of the key advances made by previous NewTom scanners but also produces images with better resolution, contrast and clarity in a package that fits in the same area as a traditional panoramic x-ray scanner.

Genexa offers a tailored "turn key" solution to each dental office, imaging center or hospital. They provide innovative financing that includes deferred payments for six months. The Genexa sales approach includes an extensive training package that ensures that each type of imaging modality is supported and that each scan is conducted safely and quickly. They also provide an effective marketing package for each installation that guarantees optimal revenue generation for each site. There are other cone beam systems on the Canadian market but none that share the same image quality, adjustable radiation dosage or training and support that Genexa Medical's NewTom VG offers.

The market potential for this new technology is enormous in Canada except for in the province of Ontario where cone beam CT scanner installations have been suspended since 2006. Their understanding is that the Ontario Ministry of Health has not yet determined the guidelines for safely installing these units. This is unfortunate as the radiation doses that patients receive from medical CT scans are on the order of 80 - 90% higher and provide similar scans for safe implant placement. They have been overwhelmed dental community interest in this imaging modality across Canada and hope that the Ontario can move forward with the rest of Canada and the United States in resolving this issue.

The NewTom VG is only available in Canada from Genexa Medical -1.866.436.3927
