Genisys Groupe Conseil Inc. Receives $150,000 in Funding from Government of Canada to Expand into U.S. Market

SAINT-GEORGES, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 9, 2011) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), announced the awarding of $150,000 in repayable funding to Génisys Groupe Conseil Inc. The firm intends to use this financial assistance to set up a sales office in the United States, a promising market for the technological solutions the company develops and implements for the commercial printing and packaging industries.

"The Government of Canada is proud to support enterprises that, like Génisys, are working to expand into new markets and thereby foster the economic diversification of their regions," said Minister Bernier.

Génisys Groupe Conseil Inc., which is headquartered in Québec and has a production office in Saint-Georges, plans to hire a business development manager for the United States, a market that includes some 4,000 commercial printers operating rotary presses, sheet-fed presses and post-press equipment. Once completed, this project will help promote to the economic diversification and consolidation of the Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality (RCM).

This funding has been granted through the Temporary Initiative for the Strengthening of Quebec's Forest Economies (TISQFE).

About the TISQFE

The Temporary Initiative for the Strengthening of Quebec's Forest Economies was brought into force in June 2010 to help communities affected by the forestry crisis diversify their economies in order to ensure their growth and create and maintain employment. The initiative's goal is also to support small and medium-sized businesses in these communities in their efforts to secure their viability and sustainable development.
