Gensym Announces Release of Gensym G2 8.3 R2

Initial Release Since Acquisition Reinforces Rapid Ability to Further Product Development

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - March 20, 2008) - Gensym Corporation, a leader in model-driven, rules based software for decision management in real-time operations, announces the release of the Gensym G2 8.3 R2 platform. The new release provides improved core product functionality and performance, and demonstrates Gensym's commitment of continual improvement.

Gensym, a recent addition to the Versata family, has been incorporated into the Business Automation Business Unit, which focuses on simplifying and automating applications and maintenance of complex solutions. With this release, the Gensym suite of applications migrated to standard build and test technologies in an effort to accelerate future product releases and guarantee repeatable quality of the products. These changes ensure Gensym's ability to maintain its dedication to product quality and reinforce its commitment for on-going support of current and future customers.

The G2 8.3 R2 platform is an integrated application development, validation, and deployment environment. This 8.3 R2 release includes 12 major customer requests, including usability enhancements in TeleWindows clients and other user interfaces, improvements to in-process memory management, including a GSI memory management improvement to the Microsoft.NET environment to support the proper threading model, and other enhancements.

To ensure continued product advancement, Gensym defined a release strategy reflecting customer priorities and plans to unveil two new releases before Fall 2008. Frequent product releases enable Gensym to react quickly to customer demands while accelerating Gensym products to acknowledged market leadership.
