Gentex Mirrors Featured on New Hyundai Luxury Vehicle

ZEELAND, MI--(Marketwire - April 30, 2008) - Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX), the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-dimming interior and exterior rearview mirrors for the 2008 Hyundai Genesis. The Genesis is Hyundai's newest entry into the luxury vehicle segment. It was launched in Hyundai's home market of South Korea and in China in January, and is expected to be introduced in North America and the Middle East this spring.

The new Genesis offers a three-mirror auto-dimming system. Interior and exterior auto-dimming mirrors will be standard equipment on most of the vehicles for the domestic Korean market. The Korean version also offers an auto-dimming interior mirror with "Mozen," Hyundai's telecommunications interface, as an available option. The packaging for the exported markets has not yet been released but features will include an interior auto-dimming mirror with a universal garage door opener and a compass display. The compass feature uses Gentex's proprietary Z-Nav® compass transducer, a highly-accurate compass sensor that determines the vehicle's directional heading. Gentex mirrors darken automatically in response to the headlamp glare of rearward-approaching vehicles.

"This is an exciting vehicle for Hyundai Motors as the Genesis is expected to attract drivers of vehicles such as Lexus, Volvo, Cadillac, Acura and other luxury models," said Gentex Senior Vice President Enoch Jen. "We are pleased that Hyundai recognizes our value-added products and is making them available on this new luxury vehicle."

Founded in 1974, Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) is an international company that provides high-quality products to the worldwide automotive industry and North American fire protection market. Many of the mirrors are sold with advanced electronic features, and more than 96 percent of the Company's revenues are derived from the sale of auto-dimming mirrors to nearly every major automaker in the world.
