gen.video Launches New Platform to Expand Reach of YouTube Creators to Amazon

gen.video Unlocks Access to Audience of Hundreds of Millions and Incremental Revenue Opportunities

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwired - June 23, 2016) - Today at VidCon, the world's largest conference for and about online video, gen.video, officially announced the launch of its new video platform designed to bridge the gap between influencer marketing and e-commerce. The gen.video platform provides the ability to unify the publishing and monetization of videos across YouTube and Amazon.

Between the company's programming partnership and deep integrations with other Amazon services, gen.video has streamlined the upload and publishing process across the two leading streaming video sites. The platform also provides influencers the opportunity to earn more with Amazon than they could on their own.

Creators can monetize their videos at every turn through several unique offerings including:

  • Higher Affiliate Fees: An automated process for creating and placing custom affiliate links has shown payouts 20 percent higher than standard Amazon advertising fees.
  • Revenue Sharing: Similar to YouTube, video creators will benefit from a rev-share associated with any pre-roll advertising running in front of their content on Amazon syndicated as a result of gen.video's programmer status.
  • Royalties: Videos made available for free to Prime members earn royalties based on hours viewed and gen.video provides management services for this new content distribution.

"There is so much great video being uploaded to YouTube and the platform makes it incredibly easy for creators to earn as much as possible," said Jessica Thorpe, president of gen.video. "We are excited to be leading the efforts to bring this amazing content to Amazon and its audience of hundreds of millions."

A key capability of the gen.video platform is Sync, which enables content creators to publish from YouTube to an automated process that creates and places custom affiliate links to products in the Amazon catalog within descriptions of videos directing viewers to Amazon to shop.

"The Amazon opportunity is great from a distribution and exposure standpoint," said Danny Winget, a video reviewer of things that are interesting in the world of tech and an audience of more than 223,000 subscribers on YouTube. "Equally important is how easy is it is to work with gen.video from all aspects."

Already, more than 800 video influencer creators with nearly 30 million subscribers via their YouTube channels, are leveraging the gen.video platform. To learn more visit, https://gen.video/creators.
