Geo Announces Board and Advisory Board Additions

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 16, 2008) - GEO MINERALS LTD. ("Geo" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:GM) is pleased to welcome the following additions to its Board of Directors and Advisory Board.

Joining the Board of Directors:

Mr. John Duncan is a geologist who began his career on the staff of the Arizona Geological Survey in Tucson, Arizona. In 1993, he resigned his position to join as a founding partner in Altar Resources and to serve as a consultant to the mineral industry. He now has over 10 years experience in exploration, development and mine geology in the Americas. Mr. Duncan has been a consultant for such companies as BHP, Cyprus Minerals, and for the last several years U.S. Borax. In addition to his Masters of Geology degree, he also holds a B.A. in Business Finance from the University of Texas.

Mr. Paul D. Gray, P.Geo., holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Dalhousie University and is a member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Mr. Gray has worked extensively as an exploration geologist in the Mineral Exploration Industry in Canada (predominantly in British Columbia) the United States, Asia and Central America for the past 12 years concentrating on base metal, precious metal and uranium exploration. Mr. Gray was President and COO of Doublestar Resources Ltd. until it was acquired by Selkirk Metals Corp. in July of 2007. Mr. Gray is currently the Director of Business Development of Bluerock Resources Ltd. and a key contributor to that company.

The Company is also pleased to announce the following additions to its Advisory Board:

Dr. Tom McCandless has worked as a consultant to the diamond industry since 1985 and has published extensively on the topics of diamond and kimberlite geochemistry and geology. He has a Master of Science and a Ph.D. degree in geology and a wide range of experience which includes employment as Chief Mineralogist at Superior Oil for diamond exploration programs conducted in the United States and appointments as a Research Scientist at the University of Cape Town in the Kimberlite Research Group, and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona specializing in the geochemistry of ore deposits. Dr. McCandless is currently Stornoway Diamond Corporation's Chief Mineralogist responsible for all mineralogical work in their North Vancouver laboratory. He is also a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Dr. Rod Kirkham has global experience with copper and other mineral deposits, and has mapped and studied mineral deposits in several places in northwestern British Columbia and is quite familiar with the geology and mineral deposits from Alice Arm to the Iskut River and Smithers region.

Mr. Kirkham obtained B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of British Columbia and a Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin (1969). He spent over 28 years as a Research Scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada, mainly studying and documenting copper and molybdenum deposits in Canada and other parts of the world. He coordinated the production of a generalized geological map of the world and several world mineral databases, much of the work being sponsored by several large mining and exploration companies and the Metal Mining Agency of Japan. He has published several scientific papers on mineral deposits and was co-editor of three books. In 1998 he received the Duncan R. Derry Medal, the highest award of the Mineral Deposits Division of the Geological Association of Canada for contributions made to the science of economic geology in Canada. For the past ten years he has been an independent consultant working for several major and junior companies and helped establish an exploration company in China (Asia Now Resource Corporation (NOW-TSXV) and has staked and vended claims in British Columbia. He is an adviser to several companies.

Geo Minerals Ltd. is granting incentive stock options to directors, officers, employees and consultants to purchase up to 325,000 common shares exercisable for up to five years from the date of issue at a price of 20 cents per share.
