Awareness Social Marketing Hub Adds Location and Language Targeting for Facebook Page Publishing, Giving Marketers the Ability to Manage a Global Facebook Presence and Post Hyper-Targeted Information to Their Fans Based on Language and Location

BURLINGTON, MA and TORONTO--(Marketwire - December 7, 2010) - Awareness, Inc., provider of on-demand social marketing management software, today announced the ability for marketers to geo-target the messages they post to their Facebook pages from the Social Marketing Hub. The Social Marketing Hub is a leading enterprise-grade Social Media Management System (SMMS) that gives marketers the power to publish, manage, measure and engage with their marketing activities across key social media channels.

What this means for Marketers

Marketers can now use the Awareness Social Marketing Hub to send more targeted, relevant messaging to their Facebook fans based on location and language. The ability to hyper-target messages within Facebook to specific languages or geography (country/region/city) means marketers can get more specific in their messaging and make their messaging more relevant to their fans.

Take, for example, a global retailer who is doing business in multiple locations across the world. Using the Hub, the retailer can now target messaging based on user location, even down to the city level. Or the retailer can send different messages based on the language of the target user. Now they can send messages to French speakers in Montreal, for example, as well as a separate message to English speakers in the same region. They may also choose to regionally target relevant messages. For example, they could promote a specific sale to fans in Boston while sending a different targeted message to fans in Chicago.

Data on geo-targeted posts is stored within the Hub and Hub users can report on trends as well as gain insight into which posts are the most effective in each market. 

Facebook announced the availability of geo-targeting through the Graph API last week. It is now generally available as a core component of the Facebook publishing interface within the Social Marketing Hub and all current and future customers will have access.
