GeoDeck Composite Decking Meets Building Department Code Requirements

Evaluation Report From ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) Assures Building Officials, Architects and Contractors of Product Quality

GREEN BAY, WI--(Marketwire - July 13, 2010) -  Green Bay Decking, LLC, The Composite Solutions Company, today announced that its flagship product, GeoDeck™ Composite Decking, now has a current and updated evaluation report from ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) for all four product colors, including the newest color released, Walnut.

ICC-ES is the United States' leading source of technical information on building products and building technology for code compliance. A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES performs technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on compliance with the major U.S. building codes, which are available at www.icc-es.org.

GeoDeck Composite Decking, manufactured by Green Bay Decking, LLC, received an evaluation report (ESR#1369) from ICC-ES, providing documentation that the environment-friendly, high performance, composite decking meets code requirements. Building officials, architects, contractors, designers and homeowners rely on the ICC-ES Evaluation Reports to provide assurance for using or approving building materials in construction projects. GeoDeck's full evaluation report can be found at www.geodeck.com

"We are pleased that the new walnut color, updated quality control, and process improvements implemented on GeoDeck are fully sanctioned and approved by ICC-ES," said Lanny Jass, president of Green Bay Decking. "The internal and third-party testing, updated process improvements, and subsequent renewal of GeoDeck's evaluation report further validate both the mechanically superior performance of GeoDeck in residential decking applications, and reaffirms to our customers that GeoDeck is an excellent choice in the composite decking market."

ICC-ES President Mark Johnson added why ICC-ES Evaluation Reports are so important. "Green Bay Decking can now reference the evaluation report to ensure building officials and the building industry that the product meets I-Code requirements," Johnson said. "Building departments have a long history of using evaluation reports, and ICC-ES operates as a technical resource for the building department. Final approval of building products is always in the hands of the local regulatory agency."
