Georgia Association of REALTORS to Hold Statewide Open House Event

Held in Conjunction With a Nationwide Open House Event on April 10-11

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - March 9, 2010) -  Curious to see what's on the housing market in your local community? Wondering if you could afford a new home? You're in luck... REALTORS® throughout Georgia will be waiting to answer your real estate questions and show you their listed homes for sale during the Statewide Open House Weekend on April 10-11, 2010!

Blue REALTOR® "R" balloons will indicate which homes are participating in the Open House Weekend. Inside there will be a REALTOR® on duty to answer consumers' questions about that particular home and the details of buying and selling a home in this market. REALTORS® are ready to educate consumers on why now is a great time to buy with the federal tax credits, low interest rates, historically low prices, and plentiful inventory at every price point.

The Open House Weekend is two weeks before the April 30 deadline for the homebuyer tax credit. Buyers must have a home under contract by April 30 and close within 60 days in order to receive the federal tax credits. First-time home buyers can receive up to $8,000 in tax credits, and other buyers may be qualified to receive up to $6,500 in tax credits. Georgia's Open House Weekend is a part of the Nationwide REALTOR® Open House event on the weekend of April 10-11. The blue REALTOR® balloons will fly all across the U.S.A. that weekend, welcoming the public to learn more about their local housing market as well as the ins and outs of buying and selling a home.
