Geoscience BC Welcomes Bas Brusche and Ron Prasad


VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - July 13, 2016) - Geoscience BC is pleased to welcome to the team Bas Brusche as Vice President, External Relations and Ron Prasad as GIS Specialist.

Bas will be responsible for working closely with Geoscience BC's senior management team to develop and deliver outreach strategies that support the development of our public earth science work ensuring our programs meet the needs and expectations of First Nations, local communities, governments, the resource sector and others. With a background in communications, stakeholder relations and government relations, Bas brings hands-on experience in First Nations and community relations to Geoscience BC. Most recently, Bas worked as Director of Development, Partnerships and Community Relations at a leading Canadian independent renewable power producer where he was responsible for business development and government relations as well as managing First Nations relations, stakeholder relations, media relations and corporate communications in BC.

Ron has a technical background in mineral exploration complemented with a bachelor's degree in geophysics from UBC and an Advanced Diploma from the Geographic Information Systems program at BCIT. Most recently, Ron worked for a Vancouver based junior exploration company as a GIS Specialist where he was responsible for managing the GIS data for mineral exploration projects in British Columbia, Australia and the United States. Ron will be driving the advancement of the Earth Science viewer, managing spatial data deliverables as well as producing map products in support of earth science project design, publications, communications and outreach materials. He will be working closely with the team to deliver Geoscience BC's earth science information to a broad user group.
