Gerry Townend, Daniel Alfredsson Open The Sports Medicine Centre at the Bell Senplex

Complex to offer professional-grade athletic treatment to Ottawa community

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 15, 2011) - Gerry Townend, head athletic therapist for the Ottawa Senators Hockey club, along with Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson, announced today the opening of the Sports Medicine Centre at the Bell Sensplex. Catering to all age groups, levels of activity and types of pain, injury or dysfunction, The Sports Medicine Centre offers athletic therapy, strength and conditioning, massage therapy, chiropractic and retail goods such as braces and exercise equipment to the Ottawa community.

With a staff featuring individuals with more than 25 years experience treating professional athletes in the National Hockey League, Canadian Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Basketball Association, The Sports Medicine Centre will offer professional-grade athletic therapy and treatment to the Ottawa community.

From preventative maintenance to injury rehabilititation, The Sports Medicine Centre provides a number of comprehensive services in one multi-disciplinary location. The certified staff of therapists and trainers will be able to provide a myriad of services, including registered massage therapy, active release techniques (certified A.R.T.), acupuncture, cranio sacral therapy (C.N.S.), MVA/whiplash injury, WSIB claims, TPi certified (golf bio-mechanic analysis), biotonix postural correction, chiropractic, sports injury rehabilitation, repetitive/cumulative strain injury, post-surgical recovery, chronic fatigue/pain syndromes, joint pain/arthritic conditions, kinesio taping, orthotic prescription, pre- and post-natal care, chiropractic care for children, post-surgical breast conditions, wellness and preventative care and lymphatic drainage techniques.
