Gestion GMAO Inc. Receives $86,773 in Funding From Government of Canada to Test Gaspesie-Developed Invention CedulWeb Eolien

GASPÉ, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 10, 2011) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced the granting of $86,773 in repayable funding to Gestion GMAO Inc. for the testing of CédulWeb Éolien, new wind turbine maintenance software. With this funding from the Government of Canada, a total of $306,610 is being invested in Gaspé for this project.

"The Government of Canada believes it is essential to support innovative young companies that, like Gestion GMAO, are investing in research and development. CédulWeb Éolien, this Gaspésie firm's newest invention, could well open up new economic prospects for the region," explained Minister of State Lebel.

Gestion GMAO's project involves working in collaboration with the Wind Energy TechnoCentre to test and improve CédulWeb Éolien, a software program compatible with all major operating systems that allows the user to monitor the operation and maintenance of wind farms both simultaneously and remotely. The development of this software, which is part of the company's growth strategy, requires the acquisition of equipment and the hiring of one employee and two consultants.

Gestion GMAO Inc., which specializes in the field of computer-assisted maintenance management, has developed and marketed a number of products for the industrial and institutional sectors since its establishment. CédulWeb Éolien, its latest innovation, is expected to meet the needs of eastern Quebec wind farm operators who will soon be forced to handle their own equipment maintenance when their product warranties expire. The company is hoping to launch its product, once it is market ready, in Quebec, the Maritimes and the United States.

"This financial assistance from the Government of Canada will enable Gestion GMAO to gain a solid foothold in the wind energy industry, a booming sector for the future both here and around the world," added the Minister of State Lebel.

This funding has been granted through the Community Diversification program, an initiative designed to help Quebec's regions maintain and expand their economic activity base. The program's aims include supporting communities in their efforts to stimulate entrepreneurship and create viable enterprises.
