SAINT-HONORÉ-DE-SHENLEY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 6, 2013) - The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture), today announced on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, that Gestion J.M. Labonté Inc. has been granted financial assistance to acquire equipment, which will translate into a rise in productivity.

"In keeping with its commitments, the Government of Canada remains focused on the economy, as evidenced by its continued support of projects aimed at improving the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises such as Gestion J.M. Labonté Inc.," said Minister of State Bernier.

Gestion J.M. Labonté Inc. specializes in metal processing for clients in the agricultural and transportation equipment sector who subcontract the manufacturing of their products to the firm. Mainly active in the Quebec and Ontario markets, the subcontractor stands out for its high-precision parts machining.

The acquisition of a lathe for oversized parts and a computerized press brake will strengthen the firm's capacity to better integrate the contracting value chain and modernize its machinery pool with the addition of high-tech machining centres. Gestion J.M. Labonté is sure to become more competitive owing to the increase in productivity as a result of faster executing times and optimization of its machining processes.
