- George at Asda launches their 'pin up' dress collection to flatter problem legs just in time for Christmas

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Nov. 14, 2011) - Forget the saying "does my bum look big in this?" George at Asda has revealed "do my legs look good in this?" is the question being asked in the run up to Christmas.

71% of women identified specific issues with their legs that they are unhappy with, the most popular of which were wide hips, thunder thighs, cankles, cellulite and stick thin boyish pins.

George, known for its body sculpting technology received tonnes of enquiries from shoppers asking how they can address their leg issues as bare legs are the one area of their bodies that cannot be fixed with today's suck-in, control, push-up and shaping technology. 65% of women admitted they have no idea how to make the best of their bare pins and were concerned about what to wear for the forthcoming party season.

In response George has come to the rescue with its Christmas 'Pin Up' leg collection, featuring four dresses in different lengths and styles which address each individual leg problem, and make the wearer look and feel great.

So if you have weightier ankles George recommends covering up in a slim fitting maxi dress, or if you carry more weight around the thighs a dress which nips in at the waist and floats across the thighs is the perfect solution.

George at Asda's resident pin doctor and ladies designer Amanda Wilkinson commented: "The emphasis for our party collection this year has been to focus on providing the nation with luscious legs! Flattering cuts and an array of varying lengths will ensure every woman is confident and their legs are the star of the show this party season just like their celebrity leg counterparts – an area to be celebrated and not to be hidden."

Skinny

Problem

A boyish figure, very narrow hips, bandy, skinny thighs and no visible leg muscle definition.

Solution

A fitted dress that shows off the slim figure, but which falls to the knee, shortening the leg slightly and covering the thigh so the best part of the leg is on show. Wearing a fitted red dress still shows off a great slim figure, but covers the narrow hips. A satin dress clings to a slim figure in all the right places as there a no lumps and bumps whilst reflecting the light and giving the appearance of movement and curve.

Wide Hips

Problem

This is a classic pear shape, much wider on the bottom than on the top with a small waist and a heavier bottom half.

Solution

A dress that nips in and hugs the smallest part of the body to accentuate it whilst flaring out over the hip area. A dress that cuts off above the knee breaks up the thigh area and shows off the best part of the leg whilst hiding the widest area.

Thunder Thighs

Problem

The thigh is much thicker and wider than the bottom half of the leg, often muscly and athletic and commonly referred to as Thunder Thighs!

Solution

A dress that nips in the waist and falls over the thigh area. A dress with ruching will detract the eye from the problem area and force it to concentrate on the detailing of the dress as well as areas where the fabric is fitted such as the waist.

Cankles

This shape carries weight around the ankles and calves, regular gym sessions don't help this area and unfortunately genetics are to blame. Often found in shorter women.

Solution

Whatever your height, even if you are petite, you can still rock a maxi dress with the best of them! A dress with very definite waist definition ensures that the figure is not drowned in material and flatters the smallest areas of the body whilst covering the bits you are self-conscious about. A cowl neck draws the eye up away from the bottom half of the body.

The women surveyed admitted that wearing a dress makes them feel instantly feminine (92%) but over half admitted they shy away from wearing a dress regularly and prefer to cover up in trousers on a day to day basis and on a night out as they feel self-conscious when baring their less than perfect pins.

Legs are really important for men all over the nation too with 66% of men letting us know they are a leg man!

47% of women agreed that Catherine Middleton's ability to bare her pins day in day out has ignited a feminine flame in them and has steered them towards finding that perfect dress for their special occasions.

George's Christmas party dresses range features a collection of dresses for all shapes and sizes including mini, maxi, midi, fitted, flared and flouncy styles to ensure every height and problem area is catered for.
