GFC Unveils Prototype Store for Award-Winning Ice Cream "Angora ICE" in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

WESTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 22, 2010) -  GFC Development Corp. ("GFC"), Boston's leading 'green' real estate developer and general contractor, is pleased to announce the completion of Angora ICE. Angora ICE (www.angoraice.com) is located at 3-A Boylston Street inside the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center in Chestnut Hill, MA, and is owned by Angora CAFE, a Boston restaurant in business for over 25 years. Angora ICE features Angora CAFE's award-winning frozen yogurt, ice cream and coffee. Angora Ice is one of five new tenants to occupy the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center owned by WS Development, one of the largest privately-owned retail development firms in the U.S. "These new dining and service options are the perfect complement to Star Market section of the center, creating a convenient hub of activity for Chestnut Hill shoppers," said David Fleming, director of corporate marketing for WS Development, in an August 27, 2010 press release.

Angora CAFE contacted GFC to create a prototype store that could be rolled out to other highly trafficked locations in and around metro Boston. Selim Gurel, owner of Angora CAFE, said, "Angora ICE seemed to be a natural extension of our brand and a new way to serve up our immensely popular line of ice creams, frozen yogurts and smoothies. We wanted to provide a unique experience to our patrons with a clean and crisp look, while retaining a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. GFC and Carlos Salib created the perfect aesthetic that is in line with the quality of service Angora is known for."

GFC, along with architect Carlos B. Salib from SalibDesign of Boston, MA, created a sit-down area within a European style cafe that houses premium all-natural ice cream; frozen yogurt; dozens of varieties of toppings, pastries and coffee. The space is equipped with WiFi Internet access to attract professionals, students and families visiting the bustling Chestnut Hill Shopping Center along Route 9.

Charles Aggouras, president of GFC Development, said, "We were extremely pleased to be selected for this project. The design team at SalibDesign created an upscale retail store that was not only distinctive, but also could be replicated with relative ease as Angora ICE expands its locations."
