ghg greyhealth Group Acquires The Lathe

Adds Leading-edge Mobile Capabilities to Portfolio of Services

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 01, 2016) - ghg greyhealth group, a leading healthcare communications services company, has acquired The Lathe, a New York-based digital design and development company focused exclusively on helping healthcare organizations utilize technologies to connect patients, caregivers, and professionals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2003, The Lathe has worked with many of the largest pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the healthcare industry with its unique approach to mobile development. The Lathe focuses first on mobile applications, surrounding them with unique digital experiences.

For example, The Lathe was able to expand a simple adherence app for a multiple sclerosis therapy into a digital ecosystem that combines data from a patient's injection device with a cloud-based dashboard that allows healthcare providers to recognize adherence issues and intervene when appropriate. This undertaking required hardware and software integration as well as requiring that it work in the complex regulatory environment governing pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical devices, and mobile medical apps.
