GI Jams Military Group Joe Speed Band Appears on Nationally Syndicated NPR Radio Program 'State of the Re:Union'

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 29, 2011) - GI Jams musical group Joe Speed Band is featured on the nationally syndicated NPR program 'State of the Re:Union.' The program's producer Laura Starecheski became aware of the group from the GI Jams Compilation Album. Joe Speed Band's Army National Guard Sergeants and Wyoming natives Jeremiah Eaton and Nathan Harvey, who rose from 'Cowboy Soldiers' serving In Iraq to popular GI Jams musical artists, appear on the show's Wyoming segment airing on over 200 stations.

GI Jams®, a company dedicated to showcasing and promoting the original songs and performances of U.S. military artists, has members who have joined its website and uploaded their songs and performances from military bases and war zones all over the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

Joe Speed Band has two tracks on the first GI Jams' compilation CD, The Original Music Of Our U.S. Military Artists, "Cowboy Soldiers (Please Send Me A Beer)" and "Big and Rich." The 14-track album also has two battlefield music videos including "Cowboy Soldiers," made from footage taken by Jeremiah and Nathan during their deployment in Iraq.

With appreciation for NPR and State Of The Re:Union, Eaton says: "Through all the darkness and hard times that soldiers endure, there comes a light from the American people to myself and other musical soldiers, GI Jams is that light."

Eaton and Harvey sat down with State of the Re:Union host Al Letson to discuss the military tours which ultimately led to their music collaboration, their first single and their discovery of GI Jams on the web. Once they uploaded the song, it climbed the site's music chart, reaching #1 -- and the rest is GI Jams history.

GI Jams and its website, created by hit songwriter/producers Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers in 2009, enable military musical artists, active and veterans, to showcase their original music and performances and allow fans and friends to follow their work and buy track downloads on the site. The GI Jams Compilation CD is available at the web site's on-line GI Jams store. 100% of the profits go to the military artists.
