Giant Campus Announces New livewire™ Tech Summer Camp at Walt Disney World®

Teens Get Exclusive, Behind-the-Scenes Technology Education and All-Access Fun at the Happiest Place on Earth

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 15, 2007 -- Giant Campus, the undisputed national leader in youth technology summer camps, today announced open registration for the first annual livewire™ summer camps for teens at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Fla. livewire combines an exclusive, behind-the-scenes adventure at Walt Disney World with the only research-proven curriculum in the youth technology training industry. Giant Campus will host three, week-long livewire camps for teens ages 14 - 18, from July 15 through August 4 at Walt Disney World Resort.

An independent research study recently found that after youth participated in a Giant Campus program, they showed a significant increase in higher order thinking skills (e.g. critical thinking, problem solving, communication) and even scored up to 90 percent higher on standardized school tests.

Located in Epcot®, the livewire lab provides teens with a hands-on education in digital art, science and technology, set against the backdrop of Disney attractions such as Mission: SPACE, Space Mountain and Disney-MGM Studios. livewire morning programs allow teens to create their own high-tech Web, video and music projects, and study subjects such as theme park physics, movie sound effects recording and theme park attraction design.

In addition to livewire morning programs, teens get an all-access pass to every Disney World theme park and parents get the satisfaction of knowing their teens are having a one-of-a-kind, fun experience, grounded in the technology, math and science skills necessary to secure the jobs of the future.

"We are thrilled Disney asked us to partner with them on creating a unique technology camp experience for teens that they will remember the rest of their lives," said Kat Fitzgerald, National Director of Programs at Giant Campus. "livewire provides the perfect atmosphere for teens to gain valuable technology skills and enjoy the fun and freedom of Walt Disney World."

livewire Education Tracks:

Dynamics of Technology -- What does it take to inspire tech advancement? Teens explore this subject through an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Mission: SPACE® attraction at Epcot®. Topics include space exploration, how electric and magnetic forces interact and drive designs, and the origins of some of today's most popular technology.

Properties of Motion -- In this program, teens will become theme park scientists, designing their own roller coaster and testing out various track elements to customize their attraction and study the effects on would-be riders. Topics include physics, G-Forces, speed, velocity and kinetic energy. This program culminates with two rides on Space Mountain -- first with the lights off, then on!

Production Arts and Science -- In this program, teens will enter the fifth dimension as they search for story elements and devices at Disney MGM-Studios. Teens will ride and explore The Twilight Zone® Tower of Terror™ attraction, study the creation of the attraction from concept to completion, and then design their own original attraction based on the ride's required elements.

Tour of the IDEAS Studio -- On this special access tour, exclusively for livewire participants, teens will get a once-in-a-lifetime view of the people, technology and equipment that makes Disney magic possible. The tour includes hands-on use of a Disney Foley studio -- the same place where Hollywood celebrities record movie sound effects and voiceovers.

The livewire registration fee is $1,997 per teen, per week (package does not include airfare). Registration fees cover lodging, meals, snacks, educational programs both in the livewire lab and those taught by Disney staff, access to all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, and transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport and the Disney properties. livewire also includes admission to a special "extravaganza" kick-off party and closing event at no additional charge.
