Giant Campus Announces Second Annual livewire™ Tech Summer Program at Walt Disney World®

Teens Get Exclusive, Behind-the-Scenes Technology Education and Fun at the Happiest Place on Earth

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - March 19, 2008) - Giant Campus, the undisputed national leader in youth technology summer camps, today announced open registration for the second annual livewire™ summer camps for teens at Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Fla. livewire combines a unique, behind-the-scenes adventure at Walt Disney World with the only research-proven curriculum in the youth technology training industry. Giant Campus will host three, week-long livewire programs for teens ages 14 - 18, from July 6 through July 26 at Walt Disney World Resort.

Located in the Disney World® resort, the livewire lab offers teens a hands-on education in digital art, science and technology, set against the backdrop of Disney attractions such as Mission: SPACE, Space Mountain and Disney-MGM Studios. livewire morning programs give teens the exciting opportunity to create their own high-tech Web, video and music projects. Teens can also explore fascinating subjects such as theme park physics, movie sound effects recording and theme park attraction design.

livewire Education Tracks:

Energy and Waves - In this new program, students will get a behind-the-scenes look at The Haunted Mansion attraction where they will learn the principles of projection, reflection and UV rays. Teens will also get a sneak-peek at the secrets of illusions, all while gaining a real world understanding of the forces of light, sound and magnetism, as well as learn how these forces can be manipulated.

Properties of Motion - In this program, teens will become theme park scientists, designing their own roller coaster and testing out various track elements to customize their attraction and study the effects on would-be riders. Topics include physics, G-Forces, speed, velocity and kinetic energy. This program culminates with two rides on Space Mountain -- first with the lights off, then on!

Production Arts and Science - In this program, teens will enter the fifth dimension as they search for story elements and devices at Disney MGM-Studios. Teens will ride and explore The Twilight Zone® Tower of TerrorTM attraction, study the creation of the attraction from concept to completion, and then design their own original attraction based on the ride's required elements.

Tour of the IDEAS Studio - On this special access tour, exclusively for livewire participants, teens will get a once-in-a-lifetime view of the people, technology and equipment that makes Disney magic possible. The tour includes hands-on use of a Disney Foley studio -- the same place where Hollywood celebrities record movie sound effects and voiceovers.

The livewire registration fee is $2,297 per teen, per week (package does not include airfare). Registration fees cover lodging, meals, snacks, educational programs both in the livewire lab and those taught by Disney staff, access to all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, and transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport and the Disney properties.
