Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation to Host 'Virtual' Gala

BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - May 7, 2014) - The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation (giftoflife.org) will kick off a $4 million dollar fundraising campaign at the 14th Annual Partners for Life 'Virtual' Gala on Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00 p.m. The online gala will honor the life and legacy of Arlene Feinberg, matriarch of the organization, who passed away in January.

Gift of Life hopes this year's digital event will broaden its audience reach, and serve as a strong commencement to this important initiative.

"The powerful moment of the donor and recipient meeting will still take place, the message about the importance of saving lives will still resonate throughout the program, but this year, even more funds raised from the event will be able to go directly to its life-saving programs," said Jay Feinberg, Gift of Life CEO, and son of Arlene Feinberg. "That is something my mother would have very much supported."

Gala guests will 'attend' the event through a private web address. Guests will take a virtual tour of the bone marrow registry's international headquarters and witness the first time meeting of a bone marrow recipient and the donor that saved his or her life -- always an emotional moment.

The gala is the official kick off for "Arlene's Vision," a $4M initiative that will underwrite the testing of 70,000 new bone marrow donors, bringing the total registry to 300,000. Tickets to the Virtual Gala are $500 per person.
