Gillis Center Announces the Winners of the 30th Annual Kansas City Spirit Awards

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - Apr 22, 2011) - Gillis Center, a Kansas City organization dedicated to helping at-risk children and families, announces the 2011 Spirit Awards Celebration to be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel with cocktails at 6:00 p.m. CT and dinner at 7:00 p.m. CT.

For the past 30 years, more than 185 outstanding Kansas Citians have been recognized for their volunteer efforts on behalf of non-profit organizations and individuals in Kansas City.

Gillis Center is proud to announce the winners of the 2011 Spirit Award:
James H. Bernard, Jr. - Community volunteer
Theodore Bunch - Founder, Artplay and Art Farm
Bruce Mathews - Community volunteer and photographer
Rachel Riley - Community activist, Founder of The 24th Street Non-Violent Marchers
Marilyn Strauss - Tony award winning Broadway producer
