Gingerbread Lane Extends to Taxi Drivers on Melville Street

10 days before the holidays GM Steve McNally and the Management Team at Hyatt Regency Vancouver Say "Thank You" to the city's Taxi Drivers.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 12, 2008) - On December 15th, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, General Manager Steve McNally and the management team at Hyatt Regency Vancouver will use this opportunity to thank cab drivers in the city for another great year. With the holiday season in full swing and the smell of warm Gingerbread treats flowing from the lobby, managers will be donned in chefs' attire on Melville Street as they bid 'thank you' to the city's cab drivers. The breakfast to go menu being served during this thank you reception will include a selection of holiday themed pastries, freshly brewed coffee and herbal teas served with all the trimmings.

"The cab drivers usher our guests into the city daily and we wanted to take time out during the holiday season to thank them for helping us in ensuring that our guests' first impression of the city is a great one," says General Manager Steve McNally. "With their busy schedules, perhaps they have not been able to come in and enjoy the displays on Gingerbread Lane and the many holiday sweets at Latte Bistro, so this year we wanted to roll out the red carpet and extend the taste of the holidays. This is what Hyatt is all about. We are always looking for ways to celebrate our people."

Gingerbread Lane - the most decadent lane in the city is loaded with pounds of eye candy and filled with 38 intricately designed Gingerbread Houses. More than an attraction, Gingerbread Lane has helped to raise thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is on display in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Families in the city have enjoyed Gingerbread Lane for the past seventeen years and have been equally supportive of the partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, through their many donations when voting for their favourite house. Once home to the world's tallest gingerbread man, Gingerbread Lane welcomes over 20,000 visitors each year and has earned its place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Gingerbread Lane is open to the public until December 28th, 2008 and visitors are able to enjoy an abundance of gingerbread cookies in Latte bistro, or purchase the decorating kit to go and add the preferred touches to the gingerbread man at home. Chef Hans Lutz and his talented team have created an even larger house than last year and added a few more sweet touches. Recipe available upon request.
