Give the Gift of Hope This Mother's Day

Nestle Family and Mercy Housing Unite to Raise $50,000 to Help Moms in Need

GLENDALE, CA--(Marketwire - May 2, 2011) - It's almost here -- that special day when moms delight in the appreciation and recognition they receive on Mother's Day. Not only do moms want to spend time with their families on this special day, but they also want to help other moms who are less fortunate. To help make this Mother's Day wish come true, Nestlé Family is partnering with national nonprofit organization Mercy Housing to celebrate moms everywhere and give the gift of hope to moms and families in need.

With a few simple steps, participants can visit Facebook.com/NestleFamilyUSA, to create a customized photo tribute to thank and honor a special mom in their lives. For each photo tribute created*, Nestlé Family will donate $1 to help moms and families in need through Mercy Housing. Donations are powered by the number of participants, so Nestlé Family is encouraging wide participation to reach its $50,000 goal. For each photo tribute submitted, $1 will be donated to Mercy Housing, up to a maximum of $50,000 and a minimum of $25,000.

"We're proud to partner with such an inspirational and effective organization," said Karen Crawford, Director, Marketing Communications for Nestlé Family. "Mother's Day is about showing how much you care. We want people to take a moment to honor the important moms in their lives, while also helping those in need. By creating a photo tribute, you're not only celebrating a special mom, but you're helping to build stable and healthy communities for families across the country."

"This program is the first of its kind for Mercy Housing, and we are very excited and hopeful about its potential impact on our residents," added Jane Graf, Chief Operating Officer for Mercy Housing. "Nestlé has a history of being a valuable resource for moms and together through our partnership, we hope to make this Mother's Day the most memorable one yet."

Looking for more ways to honor and celebrate mom on her big day? In addition to the unique photo tributes, NestleFamily.com, Nestlé's online resource, provides fun ideas and helpful advice for ways families can spend quality time together and make this Mother's Day even more memorable:

  • Gather 'Round the Kitchen. Spending time in the kitchen with mom is a delicious way to create lasting memories. Prepare fresh-baked cookies together using NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® baking ingredients and whip up Mother's Day treats the entire family will enjoy. And don't forget dinner! With the addition of whole grains and vegetables, STOUFFER'S® Farmers' Harvest™ entrées provide wholesome family dinner options perfect for any night of the week. Give mom the night off on Mother's Day by preparing this simple yet delicious meal, and get the kids involved by having them set the table or prepare a salad.

  • Share Some Delightful Treats. Toast mom this Mother's Day with a festive beverage she can feel good about. Providing one daily recommended serving of fruit**, JUICY JUICE® Sparkling Fruit Juice Beverage is perfect for all of life's little celebrations. Mother's Day is a perfect time to enjoy a moment of indulgence, too. The WONKA® Triple Dazzle Caramel Bars and WONKA® Fantabulous Fudge Bars are made with natural ingredients and designed to delight and tickle taste buds -- an imaginative treat mom is sure to love.
