Giving Canadians Access to Information in Both Official Languages

MONCTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwired - July 3, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

Canadians will be able to consult training and information documents produced by the New Brunswick Breast and Women's Cancer Partnership in both official languages. With $5,000 in support, the Partnership will be able to provide its coordinators with the official-languages tools they need, to build a better network of volunteers in the province's 15 First Nations, and to provide women with better information as it guides them toward prevention.

Robert Goguen, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament (Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

• In 2011, 245,890 people in New Brunswick, or 33.2 percent of the population, were able to carry on a conversation in English and French.
