Gliffy Invites Users to Test Drive HTML5 Editor

Gliffy Diagramming Tool Rebuild Includes New Features and an Improved Interface That's Cleaner, Smoother and More Responsive

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 24, 2012) - Gliffy, a leading provider of online diagramming tools for enabling visually impactful, collaborative communications, today announced that the upcoming Gliffy HTML5 editor is now available for a test drive. This is the first time the public will get a look at the major overhaul that will shift Gliffy from its Flash platform to one that will run well on more browsers and operating systems with an interface that is faster and more responsive.

"We are extremely excited about the progress we have made with this complete rewrite of our popular diagramming tool which allows users to create great-looking, collaborative, web-based diagrams and flowcharts right on an Atlassian Confluence page," said Chris Kohlhardt co-founder and CEO of Gliffy. "Using HTML5 lets us take Gliffy to a much higher level of performance, add new features that greatly enhance usability and functionality, and have the ability to continuously improve the tool over time."

Users who participate in the sneak peek by going to http://preview.gliffy.com will be able to experience the HTML5 difference in how much faster it loads, along with an interface that is cleaner, smoother, and more responsive.

Gliffy HTML5 will also incorporate some new features like snap-to-grid, which makes it easier to line up shapes for crisp, professional-looking diagrams, and undo/redo.

"User feedback is extremely important to us as we march towards our official release later in 2012," said Kohlhardt. "That's why we've opened up this sneak peek to the public. We really want to put our tool to the test."

Note: The preview edition of the Gliffy HTML5 editor won't let you save diagrams.
