Global Citizen Kelowna Shines Light on Okanagan Multiculturalism

The Honourable Ron Cannan announces Government of Canada support for the Intercultural Society of the Central Okanagan


KELOWNA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan. 28, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Intercultural Society of the Central Okanagan (ISCO) will receive funding of $25,100 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to present the 11th edition of Global Citizen Kelowna. The Honourable Ron Cannan, Member of Parliament (Kelowna-Lake Country), announced this support today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

Global Citizen Kelowna, a cultural diversity festival, is an annual celebration of the role that Kelowna's citizens play in bringing awareness to humanitarianism both at home and abroad. Funding will support three of the main events in 2015: "A Taste of Home", a day of multicultural dance, music and art displays; "Global Music Fest", a showcase of local musicians; and "An Artist's Eye on the World", a city-wide youth photo, video and art exhibit.
