Global Hotel Leader Selects Cables To Go as Exclusive Provider of Connectivity Panels

Partnership Will Turn Guestrooms Into Multimedia Hubs for Personal Media Devices

DAYTON, OH--(Marketwire - Nov 28, 2011) - Cables To Go and Fairmont Raffles Hotels International (FRHI), the parent company of the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel brands, today announced an agreement whereby Cables To Go will be the approved provider of connectivity panels in more than 10,000 guestrooms for the global hotel company. TruLink® Media Gateway, which will be deployed at new builds and hotels undertaking renovation programs, allows guests to easily use their personal devices and equipment for multimedia sharing and in-room entertainment.

Hotel guests simply connect their personal media device to TruLink Media Gateway, which then automatically detects the port being used, selects the HDMI input on the in-room TV and transmits the content. TruLink Media Gateway provides plug-and-play connectivity to allow guests to connect their laptops, portable media devices, DVD or Blu-ray™ players, gaming consoles or similar equipment and display them on the high-definition TV. Smartphones and MP3 players can also be charged through the unit's USB port. Connection ports include HDMI, VGA, composite video, 3.5mm audio, USB, Ethernet, Apple® devices, MP3 players and power receptacles.

"The connectivity panel from Cables To Go supports our philosophy of making technology accessible and easy to use for our guests," said Vineet Gupta, senior vice president, technology, FRHI.

Trulink Media Gateway provides the hotel company with the flexibility to customize its look to match the décor of different guestrooms and can be installed in the wall, in furniture or utilized as a desktop accessory. Hotel IT staff can update the firmware on Trulink Media Gateway in a matter of seconds via the network, saving thousands of dollars in costs each time a new technology comes to market.

Gary Hess, vice president of innovation for Cables To Go, added, "FRHI is leading the way in the hospitality industry by supporting guests who now carry their media on a wide variety of equipment and devices. Whether it is the business traveller working on a presentation or the leisure traveller looking for entertainment options, TruLink Media Gateway allows them to easily utilize their own content and personal technology in their hotel room."

All three hotel brands will have access to future product enhancements like power products and the highly anticipated wireless connectivity panel. Cables To Go, a 27-year veteran with a multitude of industry awards for leading-edge product innovation, offers FRHI a total connectivity solution from guest cabling kits, marketing and web materials to first-rate training for hotel staff to provide a best-in-class user experience.
