Industry-Veteran John Fargis Appointed General Manager Responsible for Expanding Sales Efforts and Supporting OEMs, ODMs and ISPs

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 12, 2005 -- Global IP Sound (GIPS), the leading provider of embedded voice-processing solutions for the Voice over IP (VoIP) market, today announced that it has committed to becoming a leading supplier to manufacturers and service providers in the Asia-Pacific region. To that end, the company has opened a new office centrally located in Hong Kong.

"The strong relationships that we have already forged with many of the leading ISPs in the Asia-Pacific region have paved the way in building ties with hardware manufacturers in the region," said Gary P. Hermansen, President and CEO of Global IP Sound. "We are hiring a strong team of sales, marketing and engineering personnel to ensure that the needs and expectations of these new customers are met."

The company is committing considerable resources into penetrating rapidly growing Asian markets. GIPS' Hong Kong office will continue servicing ISPs and application developers while putting additional focus on providers of VoIP hardware solutions as well as wireless system manufacturers, all of which are supported by GIPS award-winning and patented VoiceEngine solutions.

John Fargis has been appointed as the General Manager of the new sales office. In his newly appointed role, Fargis will work to bring GIPS SoundWare™ solutions to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) in the pacific region. In addition, he has been charged with hiring support engineers, marketing personnel and sales staff for the new location.

"John Fargis, and the experience in the Asian market that he brings to this position, will be invaluable as we extend our sales more deeply into that region of the world," said Hermansen. "We are excited at the prospect of taking a leadership position in serving this market's demand for high-quality video and voice over IP."

For the past twelve years, Fargis has focused on successfully bridging U.S. and Asian organizations and the Greater China marketplace. Prior to joining GIPS, he was CEO for SiMa Systems, a mobile enterprise solutions company providing electronic clipboards for field-force automation applications.
