Global Movement for Humanity unite4:good Announces Schedule of Activities for Unity Day Bay Area

Through Empowering Action, Creating New Programs and Uniting Individuals and Organizations in Innovative Ways, unite4:good Inspires Positive and Lasting Change on a Global Scale

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Feb 6, 2014) - The global movement for humanity unite4:good today announced a schedule of activities for its Unity Day Bay Area February 7-8, 2014, providing individuals, businesses, non-profits and recognized influencers an opportunity to lend their time in and around the San Francisco Bay area and give back to the local community with acts of kindness.

This Unity Day is one of several in a national campaign scheduled for major cities across the U.S. to inspire kindness, empower community service and promote a unified sustained movement for positive social change.

"Unity Day Bay area is an excellent opportunity for all citizens to help pay kindness forward," said unite4:good Founder and global philanthropist, Anthony Melikhov. "Through this unique union with the best charities and sponsors in major metropolitan areas, we're able to positively influence others to share kindness, love and empowerment on local and global levels."

unite4:good Unity Day Bay Area Schedule of Activities:

  • Agami -- February 7th at 6:30-8:00pm

This U.S. nonprofit providing school supplies for underprivileged kids in the US and Bangladesh invites you to take a Bikram yoga class with instructor Murshida Chowdhury in one of the best studios in the Bay Area.   • Andrew Hill High School -- February 7th at 9:00am

Distinguished professional will be on site to encourage students to apply for, and attend, college.

  • Berkeley Youth Alternatives -- February 7th at 11:00am-2:00pm

Address: 1255 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94702
Here, the Berkeley Youth Alternatives will host a garden clean up. Volunteers are welcome.

  • Pier 39 -- February 7th at 2:00-4:30pm

At this volunteer drive, volunteers will be giving out care packages on the pier as Gabriel "The San Francisco Trumpet Boy" performs.

  • Mario B Productions -- February 7th at 4:00pm

A workshop where children of all ages can learn the importance of fashion etiquette.

  • Rainbow Recreation Center -- February 7th at 9:00am-1:00pm

Several volunteers will help prepare food for a meal to feed the needy on Feb. 8th from 8:00am-12:00pm.

  • Richmond Pal -- February 7th at 4:30-8:00pm

Volunteers will be setting up chairs at Craneway Pavilion before the Behind the Curtain Gala.

  • Bernal Heights Neighborhood -- February 8th at 1:00-3:30pm

A wonderful event where the children can attend a Human Centered Design workshop.

  • Oakland Healthcare & Wellness Center

In an effort to pay kindness forward, volunteers will pass out care packages.

  • REACH Ashland Youth Center

Address: 16335 E 14th St, San Leandro, CA 94578
College students will host an academic workshop where they will talk about financial aid, choosing a college, and more.

Local high schools are also lending their hands with volunteer drives on February 7th. These schools include: Castlemont High School (Oakland), Fremont High School (Oakland), Oakland Technical High School, El Cerrito High School, James Logan High School (Union City), DeAnza High School (El Sobrante), and John F. Kennedy High School (Richmond).

Behind the Curtain Gala
On February 8th from 8:00 pm. to 11:00 p.m., in partnership with Blair Underwood, unite4:good will be bringing world-class talent and cutting-edge fashion to Craneway Pavilion for the "Behind the Curtain Gala." During this empowering night filled with kindness and love, music and fashion will combine for an exclusive event featuring Miguel, Mario Lopez and Mindless Behavior, with local youth ambassador Sydney Nycole.

The real stars however are the host charities -- Berkeley Youth Alternative, Scholar Athletes, Richmond Police Athletic League and many other Northern California organizations. This event will raise awareness for each of these charities while also providing an unforgettable night of music and fashion.
