Global Power Project Spending Rising and Shifting, a "Navigating the Currents of Change" Webcast on

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - Apr 5, 2012) - Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- More than 3,500 power projects around the world valued at more than $1.3 trillion have been added to Industrial Info Resources' global power database over the last 12 months, Britt Burt, Industrial Info's vice president of global research for the Power Industry, said in an exclusive "Navigating the Currents of Change" webcast. "Our database is tracking about $4.8 trillion of Power Industry project-spending opportunities around the world, which is roughly 75% of the industry's global project-spending total," Burt said.

Looking forward, Burt and his colleague Shane Mullins, vice president of product development for the Power Industry, see Industrial Info increasing its coverage of in-plant capital and maintenance projects, particularly in Europe and South Asia.

"Industrial Info is tracking about 2,700 active European Power projects with aggregate value in excess of $1 trillion," Burt said. "We're continuing to see quite a shift to renewable power." Renewable energy projects are expected to account for about 67% of all generation projects kicking off on the continent between now and 2030," he added.

The details of European Power Industry project spending can be found in Industrial Info's recently updated 2012 Global Industrial Outlook. A more detailed analysis of the continent's electricity market can be found in Industrial Info's forthcoming 2012 European Power Outlook. And an important upcoming trade show, Power-Gen Europe 2012, will bring together tens of thousands of Power Industry professionals to discuss and network on the major drivers of the continent's power industry. Readers can find Industrial Info at Booth 6E96 at the Power-Gen Europe event, which runs June 12-14 in Cologne, Germany.
