Canada's premiere government relations firm, and the nation's fastest growing critical communications consultancy, announced today that they will combine their services. In a move both parties say will be of utmost value to their clients, Alberta-based Corpen Group will merge their services with Global Public Affairs, who have acquired the company. This combination will form one of Canada's leading integrated government relations and strategic communications consultancies. The amalgamation will see the expansion of Corpen Group's critical communications offerings across the country.

"We're excited to welcome Corpen Group," said Global President & CEO Randy Pettipas. "Corpen Group's culture, their proven track record, and their dedication to client success is a natural fit with the growth of our company over the last 15 years." The integration will extend the suite of corporate and crisis communications services to Global clients, while still allowing Corpen Group to continue operating as a successful and independent brand. Corpen Group can now also refer clients to Global for those seeking an added public policy dimensions to their issues management offering. Pointing to the increased intersection of government relations and strategic communications in the public policy space, Pettipas notes that "this union increases both entities' ability to meet the increasingly complex issues management needs of businesses today."

"It's a win-win for everyone," adds John Larsen, President of Corpen Group. "For us, it's about taking that next natural step in growing a national service offering. And more importantly, for our clients, it's about being better able to leverage focused, strategic communications counsel that is often playing out in an increasingly complex and highly-charged political environment." Larsen points out that Global and Corpen Group will remain focused in their respective areas of expertise. "We do very different things, we do them really well, and now our clients can share in the best of both worlds."
