Global Retained Executive Search Market Up 19% in 2006

Industry Enjoys Third Straight Year of Double-Digit Growth

PETERBOROUGH, NH -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2007 -- The retained executive search industry has posted its fourth year of positive growth since beginning its recovery from the dot com bust and the events of 9/11, reports Executive Recruiter News, the industry's flagship newsletter, in its annual "Rankings Issue," published this week by Kennedy Information.

Executive Recruiter News' annual analysis of the markets for retained executive search consulting reveals that the 20 largest global practices posted healthy double-digit gains, with the group as a whole increasing professional fee revenue in 2006 by 19 percent.

The ERN-ranked 40 largest retained executive search firms in the United States also show positive growth, with 27 of the 40 firms reporting double-digit growth. Overall, U.S.-based firms realized a 12 percent increase in fee revenue in 2006.

Looking ahead, ERN editor Jeanne Sturges states, "Demand for executive talent, which climbed to a six-year high in 2006, can be expected to continue to increase in 2007. Continuing a trend now entering its fourth year, a key challenge facing executive search firms will be their ability to keep pace internally with the talent needs of business operating in the emerging global markets."

Executive Recruiter News' annual Rankings Issue, now in its 35th year, is the de-facto benchmarking standard for the retained executive search industry, ranking and reporting on the 20 largest Global and 40 largest U.S. executive search firms by fee revenue. The annual assessment breaks out for each ranked firm such metrics as year over year percent growth, number of partners, consultants, researchers and associates and revenue per partner or consultant.
