Global security risk and digital content leader joins the microshare(TM) team

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - May 30, 2017) - Michael Moran, a leading international security and political analyst who recently led the US/macro practice at Control Risks, has joined Philadelphia-based microshare™ to help drive the growing software firm's expanding OEM client list and to manage communications and security strategy.

microshare has developed a comprehensive and unique data governance software for the next phase of the digital economy centered on the Internet of Things (IoT). Its patent-pending software enables a granular parsing of the torrent of Big Data implicit in the advent of IoT to enable a compliant, secure and contract-ready monetization of data streams through APIs. This crucial governance layer is absent from current middleware solutions.

Ron Rock, CEO of microshare, said Moran brings a skill set that will assure that the firm's API-based interface will be delivered with a maximum focus on security, regulatory and compliance issues across all sectors and jurisdictions. "Mike's got the kind of connections and insight into digital production and development on both sides of the Atlantic that we really wanted on our team. He will help us drive client engagements, provide strategic insight and keep our message honed to a sharp point."

For the past three years, Moran was a partner and chief US/macro analyst at the London-based global consultancy Control Risks. He has a long track record of digital innovation, having launched successful offerings for the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Roubini Global Economics, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Renaissance Capital and other clients.

He is also an author, award-winning documentary producer and a pioneer in online media dating to the 1996 launch of Microsoft's joint venture with NBC News, MSNBC.com. Moran conceived and produced a digital documentary series at CFR that won global recognition, including three Emmy awards. He is a Visiting Fellow for Peace and Security at the Carnegie Corporation of New York, and an adjunct professor at Bard College's Globalization and International Affairs program.
