Global Tel*Link Wins Patent Lawsuit Brought by Securus Technologies

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Jul 15, 2014) - In a decisive and sweeping victory for Global Tel*Link Corporation (GTL) in federal court on Thursday, a U.S. District Court Judge in Dallas dismissed with prejudice all of the claims asserted by Securus Technologies against GTL in its patent case, barring Securus from filing the same claims. The court also ordered Securus to pay GTL's costs in the case.

"From the very start GTL said that this suit should never have been filed, and we are pleased that the judge agreed," said Brian Oliver, GTL's Chief Executive Officer. "This should serve as a message -- GTL will fight Securus' baseless lawsuits and intends to defend itself vigorously to ensure that its technology remains available in a fair and open market."
