GlobalLogic's INNOVATE! 2011 Event Features C-Level Debate About the Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise

200+ Attendees See Cloud Computing and Tablet Devices as Drivers of a "Perfect Storm" of Technology Disruption

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwire - Jun 22, 2011) - GlobalLogic, a leader in software R&D services, today announced key highlights from its invitation-only INNOVATE! 2011 conference held last week in Palo Alto, CA. The two-day event welcomed more than 200 of R&D's brightest leaders as well as an all-star lineup of speakers, including renowned author, investor and business strategist Geoffrey Moore, Forrester's John McCarthy, and Sal Khan, of the Khan Academy.

In a survey of INNOVATE! attendees, GlobalLogic found several recurring themes that also dominated the overall tenor and dialogue at the conference:

  • 94 percent of respondents predicted that cloud computing and smartphone ubiquity would have the biggest impact on R&D roadmaps over the next 18 months
  • Nearly 75 percent of respondents indicated that the adoption of tablets and the growing impact of mobile is by far the biggest surprise over the last year
  • 36 percent of respondents identified the influence of consumer technologies on enterprise solutions as the greatest uncertainty in their company's R&D roadmap

"INNOVATE! 2011 reaffirmed we are in the midst of a 'perfect storm' of technology disruption in the enterprise, punctuated by rapidly evolving cloud, mobile and consumer technology-inspired developments," said Shashank Samant, President of GlobalLogic. "As innovation moves to the edge of the enterprise, successful companies will need to embrace new consumer paradigms and collaborative business networks to compete and grow in the new world economy. We are truly inspired and well positioned to partner with our customers to develop such innovation and transform business as we know it today."
