GlobalScholar Announces Mobile App for Educators and Students

Check Class Assignments or Take Attendance Using an iPhone®or iPod Touch® Mobile Digital Device, or Mobile Device Using the Android™ Mobile Technology Platform

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 25, 2011) - (ASCD 2011 Conference) -- GlobalScholar today announced that it will be launching a new mobile application (app) for the Pinnacle Suite that will help educators and students work smarter and give them access to a range of Pinnacle Suite features and information via an iPhone® or iPod Touch® mobile digital device, or mobile devices using the Android mobile technology platform.

GlobalScholar's award winning Pinnacle Suite is an end-to-end instruction management solution. It supports all aspects of managing education at K-12 schools, including student information systems; performance-based scheduler; gradebook; learning management system; longitudinal data collection, analysis and reporting; teacher evaluation and professional development; RTI, computer adaptive tests, individualized learning plans, and online communication and tutoring portals. Pinnacle Suite empowers educators with data and actionable insights into student performance, enabling teachers to quickly identify when and where individual students might be struggling or need additional help.

The new mobile app for the Pinnacle Suite provides teachers and school administrators (at schools using Pinnacle Suite) tools and information to help them work smarter with the devices they already use every day. For example, teachers can use the app to take attendance in class using an iPhone® or iPod Touch® mobile digital device, or using devices with the Androidmobile technology platform. The attendance information is then sent to and recorded in Pinnacle Grade, GlobalScholar's gradebook module. Teachers can also use it to view curriculum details and class assignments, at their convenience.

The Pinnacle mobile app is also a great resource for students who want to view classroom assignments or homework while on the go. For this digitally savvy and always-on generation, the Pinnacle mobile app is another way to keep students informed and engaged in their education in a way they are accustomed to -- using mobile technology.

"Everything we do is aimed at giving educators the tools they need to work smarter, allowing them to focus on what they do best and continue leading a revolution in learning," said Kal Raman, CEO of GlobalScholar. "We firmly believe that ensuring that our software and online services are extremely easy to use and accessible to teachers, administrators, parents, and students anytime and anywhere, ultimately makes the Pinnacle Suite more useful and effective."

The Pinnacle mobile app will be available for free to current Pinnacle customers starting in summer 2011. To learn more about the Pinnacle mobile app or to see a demonstration, visit GlobalScholar in booth #1701 at the ASCD 2011 Conference in San Francisco's Moscone Center, March 26 - 28, 2011.
