MANILA, PHILIPPINES and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 14, 2011) - JAJAH and Globe Telecom, one of Asia's leading telecommunications operators, today announced a partnership to deliver retail VOIP services to Filipinos abroad.
The new services will be built on the JAJAH IP Communications Platform, which enables operators, internet companies and other brands to roll out and manage cutting edge calling services. Globe Telecom is the latest major operator to partner with JAJAH since its acquisition by Telefónica Europe (NYSE: TEF) in early 2010.
With an estimated 10 million Filipinos living outside the Philippines, Globe Telecom has chosen JAJAH to deliver retail VOIP services aimed at letting overseas Filipinos call home simply and affordably, using their regular phone through a registration-based service offering.
JAJAH General Manager, Ori Soen: "With Filipinos spread all over the world, Globe Telecom has a unique opportunity to build its customer base beyond its borders. JAJAH is delivering services that work in over 200 countries around the world, demonstrating how operators can leverage JAJAH's global Platform to expand their market and customer base."
Globe International Business Group Head, Rizza Maniego-Eala: "It is a constant need for millions of Filipinos around the world to stay connected with friends and family back home. With JAJAH's help, Globe Telecom will be able to significantly expand its direct-to-end user retail VOIP calling service. Partnering with JAJAH allows us to ride on their global footprint."
JAJAH launched in March 2006 with a friendly, easy to use "web-activated calling" solution for any consumer with internet access. It has since developed and released a range of IP-telephony solutions, including JAJAH Direct, JAJAH@call and JAJAH mobile, which have attracted more than 10 million customers globally.
JAJAH has also emerged as the leading IP communication platform with a fully managed, scalable infrastructure providing white label and outsourced telephony services in more than 200 countries. The Platform has been chosen by a growing number of mobile operators, telcos and technology companies, including Yahoo!, Microsoft and Intel.
JAJAH is dedicated to bringing consumers, enterprises and telecommunications companies advanced telephony solutions to allow them to embrace the next generation of IP communications. Its services combine the barriers to communication and making it easier for people everywhere to stay in touch.
In 2010 JAJAH was acquired by Telefónica Europe, the leading global integrated communications operator.
JAJAH is headquartered in Mountain View, California with offices in Ra'anana, Israel.
