Globecomm Heads to IBC With Over 95% Media Customer Renewal Rate

HAUPPAUGE, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 10, 2015) - Globecomm reports that due to new and expanded projects in the broadcast and media sector, the company has retained better than 95% of its customers over the past 10 years.

The past 12 months have served to reinforce Globecomm's market position with marquee projects in the broadcast media segment. According to CEO Keith Hall, the company enhanced its market vertical portfolio distribution with a string of broadcast media successes. With its global network and facilities, Globecomm completed, expanded or continued to serve clients, including Showtime, NeuLion and other tier-one broadcasters, as well as providing broadcast technology to global government entities.

The company is increasingly active in the global media market. Globecomm was awarded the design and integration of a new DTH platform for Sky. As reported by Reuters, Globecomm completed the design and integration for new DTH platforms at each of the two teleports operated by the global DTH service provider. The work done has enabled Sky to provide site diversity disaster recovery for its direct-to-home services.

The company's ability to advance new and innovative media projects was recognized in March when Globecomm and Althat were selected by the Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) to develop, fabricate, build and install museology multimedia for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's historic Addiriaah UNESCO Heritage Site.

In Asia, Globecomm opened an office in Jakarta and is working on projects in Indonesia and Malaysia. In The Middle East, Globecomm's office in Dubai is leading the relocation of du's Al Qudra uplink facility in the UAE, the region's largest teleport and broadcast uplink hub. "The Al Qudra relocation was one of the biggest and most complex integration projects in the media industry last year," said Hall.

Globecomm also recently announced that it had been awarded the design and integration of the International Criminal Court's Public Broadcast Control Room in The Hague, a content distribution network providing real-time distribution of all Court proceedings to journalists.

Globecomm will celebrate this achievement at a special pre-IBC reception onboard the Oceandiva Futura in Amsterdam on September 10.
