GloNav Appoints Paul Hansen to Management Team

Former Cambridge Positioning Systems Vice President to Head Up Customer Design and Support

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - July 9, 2007) - GloNav Inc., a fabless semiconductor company developing global positioning system (GPS) and other satellite navigation solutions, today announced that Paul Hansen, Ph.D., has been appointed as vice president of customer design and support. In this role, Hansen, who will be joining from CSR plc, will be responsible for the overall customer integration strategy for the company's GPS products and solutions.

"GPS technologies enable a myriad of devices to provide location-based services, and each device and manufacturer has unique integration requirements," said Bill McLean, chief executive officer, GloNav. "We are extremely pleased to announce Paul's appointment. We are confident that his noted real-world GPS experience and location technology integration expertise will be key customer advantages, enabling them to rapidly bring products to market and enhance the consumer experience with GPS devices."

GloNav recruited Hansen to provide technical expertise to customers with specific GPS application needs. An industry veteran, Hansen co-invented the core technologies for Cambridge Positioning Systems, served in technical and management positions, and helped to position the company for sale to CSR in January 2007. He holds several key patents in positioning technology and systems. Prior to this, he worked on the development of global differential GPS systems for hydrographic and geophysical surveying.

"Initially used for government and scientists, GPS is showing up in an explosion of consumer electronic devices; however, when it comes to the user experience, results can differ widely," Hansen said. "Upon completing due diligence, I found that GloNav's baseband and radio frequency (RF) intellectual property portfolio, combined with its DynaTrak™ multipath algorithms, provide the highest accuracy and tracking capabilities in the industry. These advances will make it easier for manufacturers to integrate GPS chips while enhancing end users' experiences with location-based services."
