Glympse Now Available in New Windows(R) Marketplace for Mobile

REDMOND, WA--(Marketwire - October 6, 2009) - Glympse, the new service that visually answers the question "Where are you?" has been selected as one of the Showcase applications within the newly launched Windows® Marketplace for Mobile. With Glympse, Windows® phones with GPS users now have the ability to share their location as easily as making a phone call or sending a text message. The service also includes upgraded tools, including an integrated Twitter feature that makes it easier for users to temporarily share their location with followers.

Glympse is the only location-sharing service that allows users to share their whereabouts with anyone they choose for a set amount of time -- up to four hours -- using the company's patent-pending GlympseWatch™ technology. With Glympse, Windows phone users just simply download the app for free and, after a few clicks, they can temporarily share their location with any friends, family or colleagues with a mobile or computer Internet connection. There is no special software or account required to receive a Glympse. Once the Glympse expires, there is no way to see the sender's location again unless he/she sends another Glympse.

How it Works:

Once Glympse is downloaded, users simply select or enter a phone number or email for one or more contacts or their Twitter account, set the duration they want their location to be visible to the recipient(s), and hit send. To access a Glympse, recipients simply need a Web-enabled phone or computer. To open, click on the unique URL embedded in the Glympse message, which launches a dynamic map that shows the sender's location in real-time interactive fidelity, turn-by-turn, including speed of travel, and -- if a destination has been designated -- the estimated arrival time. While recipients do not need to download software to view a Glympse message, having the application provides for a richer, more dynamic experience.

The GlympseWatch timer can be set for one instant, sending a snapshot of the sender's location at that moment, or for a specified time period for up to four hours. The timer adds an important layer of security and addresses the concern that users can easily forget to turn off location-sharing mode and unintentionally broadcast their location at inappropriate times. Senders also have the flexibility to pause or delete a Glympse at any time or elect to extend it before it expires. Glympse's unique time-based approach makes it appropriate for use with a much broader list of people encountered in daily life, including family and friends, business associates, casual acquaintances, and people you may be meeting only once and do not want to know your location on an ongoing basis.
