Gnip Announces New Data Enrichments for Premium Twitter Feeds

Klout Scores and Language Filtering Are Now Available on Premium Twitter Data Feeds Through Gnip's Social Media API

BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - Gnip, Inc. (http://gnip.com), the leading provider of social media data for enterprise applications, today announced that it has enhanced its premium Twitter data offerings with Klout Scores and language filtering enrichments. These new data enrichments are now available to all customers receiving premium Twitter data feeds from Gnip.

Gnip aggregates raw social data from over a hundred feeds across dozens of sources into a single API to deliver ready-to-consume data in the customer's protocol of choice. Data enrichments including format normalization, URL expansion, deduplication and more are then applied to augment the raw social data with additional metadata, increasing its utility for customers.

The new enrichments on Gnip's premium Twitter data feeds include:

  • Klout Scores - Get Twitter data delivered with Klout Scores, an emerging standard of overall online influence. These scores range from 1 to 100 with higher scores representing a wider and stronger sphere of influence. Using Klout Scores, easily filter Tweets from users within a specified range.
  • Language Filtering - Using a language detection algorithm, Gnip analyzes Twitter data to categorize Tweets into specific languages. Gnip currently supports the following languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.

Although Klout Scores and language filtering are only available on premium Twitter feeds, many of Gnip's data enrichments come included with every Gnip Data Collector. To learn more about data enrichments provided by Gnip, visit http://gnip.com/enrichments.
