Go Extreme With The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation's Extreme Kindness Challenge -- Our Ticket to a Kinder World

Challenge to Boost Random Acts of Kindness Week, Feb. 14-20, 2011

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - "Extreme" doesn't mean risky snow sports or running an ultramarathon. Anyone can go extreme this month by joining the Extreme Kindness Challenge for Random Acts of Kindness Week.

The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAK) sponsors Random Acts of Kindness Week, Feb. 14-20. The Extreme Kindness Challenge mission, for those bold enough to accept it: Do one act of kindness every day during Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Stumped for ideas? RAK will ignite the effort by suggesting a new kind action every day to its 25,000 Facebook fans, 60,000 online community members and via Twitter (@RAKFoundation). Members can use the prompt or choose their own kind action.

"We're urging people to take kind acts to extremes by committing to a random act of kindness every day," explained Marilyn Decalo, director of the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. "We'll help with daily action prompts and updates on how many acts of kindness the group completes. It's Our Ticket to a Kinder World."

RAK will tally the efforts and update participants daily. "We're excited to demonstrate how kindness spreads when we act. The light of kindness can be passed from one person to another, like a flame from candle to candle," Decalo said.

Online, Extreme Kindness Challenge participants can record kind actions and how many people they have touched. The foundation will track kind acts on Twitter via #dokindness.

"Inspiring others is an act of kindness in itself," Decalo added.
