Goa Luxury Resort Celebrates the Joy of Giving Week With Charitable Contributions

PANJIM, INDIA--(Marketwire - Sep 28, 2011) - Goa Marriott Resort & Spa is proud to announce their participation in the Joy of Giving Week (JGW 2011) on October 2^nd through October 8^th. With the aim to prove that nothing is more satisfying than the joy of giving to the less fortunate, the Goa luxury resort's associates are prepared to dedicate their time and resources to charity.

The team at Goa Marriott Resort & Spa will kick off their week of charity by participating in the All-Goa Drawing and Painting Competition for mentally challenged children. The event, organized by DISHA, is expected to have 500 participants. Goa Marriott Resort & Spa plans to contribute by providing refreshments to children throughout the event.

On October 3rd, the VMSB football team along with Goa 5 star hotel's employees will visit the Caritas Orphanage for children afflicted with HIV/AIDS, in Tivim. There they will interact with the orphans and share life experiences with them. This will be followed by refreshments and a movie screening.

Later that week, Goa Marriott Resort & Spa will be hosting a Charity Dinner on October 8^th one of their finest Goa restaurants, where prominent members of society will be invited to partake and contribute towards this noble cause, the proceeds of which will go towards the JGW 2011 charity fund.

Throughout the week, Goa Marriott Associates will undertake an active Donation Campaign within the resort premises. Guests being checked in will be oriented at the reception with the concept and cause of the week, with a request to donate as per their wish. There will also be in-room letters to the same effect, urging the guest to get in touch with the hotel team should they wish to donate at any time. Non-residential guests in the lobby, restaurants, spa & fitness centre will also be informed about the concept and urged to donate generously towards this honorable cause. Proceeds obtained from the Charity Dinner & the Donation Campaign will be channeled towards the ASRO project of Caritas-Goa, an orphanage for children afflicted with HIV/AIDS.

The Goa, Panjim hotel regularly works with Caritas, a home for orphaned children, and engages the children in a variety of activities throughout the year.
